God, Gratitude

Thank You God

Thank You!

Two simple words that are quite powerful. Each morning when I wake up I say Thank you Lord before I do anything. I started doing this several years ago. I have to be intentional to say this to my Heavenly Father each day. Sometimes I forget to do this first thing, and I say it later. The goal is always to start my day thanking God.

Why do I do this? When I start my day with thanking God before anything else it puts things in perspective. No matter how I’m feeling, no matter what trial I am experiencing, God is bigger. It’s all about Him, not me.

Let’s thank God together.

Thank you Father God for today. It is a precious gift from you. No matter what I have to face, you are with me. I praise you and thank you.

What do you thank God for?

  1. Thank you for such a good reminder. We have so much to be thankful for. When we are saved, the first thing we should be thankful for is that we will not receive the judgement we so deserve. Thank you, my Lord, for salvation.

When I awake, the first thing I do (when I’m fully awake) is to say, “Good morning, my Lord.” That feels so good. A reminder that He’s right there with us. Then I start going down the list of things I’m grateful for.

The Bible says in Romans 1:21 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” I don’t want to go there.

And I’m thankful for you, Meghan. God bless you.

  2. So good!! Thank you, Meghan, for such an important reminder! This made me think of that day, several years ago, when Nana said with her jaw wired closed due to breaking it during a fall, “Isn’t the Lord good!?”

    1. Nana was a saint! Her attitude and faith were inspiring. The last time I was around your grandma she often said, “isn’t the Lord wonderful” You were very blessed with Nana. Thank you Wendy!

      1. I am so happy to you got to hear her. Because of her love of the Lord and faith, I developed a love and faith similar to hers. So thankful for both my Christian Grandmas. God uses Grandmas in powerful ways!!! 🙏❤
